Managing Partner ClearCost
In 2001, Steve Middeldorp established ClearCost on the belief that all IT groups need to behave commercially in order to survive and contribute to successful business outcomes. This approach translated into a business model that integrates Financial Management with Service Management in a way that both IT and the Business understand. In 2001, we referred to this simply as “running IT like a Business.” I believe that must be every CIO’s belief – hence this business.
Drawing from over 40 years of experience in a range of Senior IT Management positions in Investment Banking, Legal, Consulting Services, and Manufacturing organizations, I understand the commercial side of running an IT business. My practical expertise has been supplemented by a range of accreditations and industry training, including completing the Harvard Business School Delivering Information Services Program.
IT Financial Management has become an integral component of business strategy, as it allows executives to make informed decisions with service-based data. I have had the honor of speaking at regional and international conferences on the impact of IT Financial Management best practices, and I have learned a great deal from other industry leaders in the process.
Ultimately, we owe our success at ClearCost to our clients, for their contributions to the development of our software and methodology have ensured we can deliver what IT groups need today and tomorrow.
ClearCost was acquired by the Digital Lifecycle Group in 2018.
